Dr. Derek Segall
Dr. Derek Segall BDS
Dr. Derek Segall was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and graduated with a degree in dentistry from the University of the Witwatersrand. Following his graduation, he served in the South African Defense Force for one year before embarking on his career in private practice. After seven years in private practice in South Africa, Dr. Segall decided to immigrate to Canada in 1998.
Shortly after his arrival in Toronto, he joined the dental practices of Uptowne and Amberwood Dental Centres.
Dentistry is not his only passion. In addition to maintaining a busy practice Derek enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, is a keen gardener, and an aviation enthusiast. He also tries to keep in shape by working out and biking.
Dr. David Singer
Dr. David Singer BchD
Dr. David Singer was born in South Africa. He received his dental degree from the University of Stellenbosch, in the heart of wine country. He then served in the South African Army for two years working in the Dental Unit practicing general dentistry.
Dr. Singer moved to Canada in 1987. He practiced general dentistry in Summerford, Newfoundland and Edmonton, Alberta before moving to Toronto in 1991 to join the practices of Uptowne and Amberwood Dental Centres.
In his free time, David enjoys spending time with his family, running and pursuing the game of golf.
Dr. Sharon Poon
Dr. Sharon Poon BDS
Dr. Sharon Poon was born and raised in Toronto, before moving to Australia to study dentistry at University of Adelaide. After achieving her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree she practiced in Newcastle, Australia before moving back to Toronto in 2020.
She provides patients with a range of dental treatment, which include, but are not limited to, Invisalign, Crown and Bridge procedures, oral surgery procedures, and cosmetic care. Her philosophy of care towards patients is to help them achieve long-term aesthetic and functional smiles, while doing everything she can to prioritize patient comfort, and ensure patients feel heard and have their concerns addressed. She can communicate fluently in English, French and Cantonese.
Outside of dentistry, she enjoys reading, baking and going on hikes and runs.
